Has anyone found the Frida rectal thermometer to be inaccurate? We had a scare this morning with a concerningly low temp using it. A different thermometer in baby’s armpit was almost 3 degrees higher.

I’ve had a similar experience with the safety brand used for armpit. It always varies but honestly I don’t feel sure about using rectal especially when I’m by myself with baby but have been told it’s most accurate

I have it and found that it’s been pretty accurate, do you have another thermometer you could use rectally and compare?

just regular adult thermometers that go under the tongue. Idk if they could be used rectally on baby. Will google this!

usually it’s not recommended when they’re oral since it doesn’t have a stop so you don’t insert it too far! I would definitely check it again with the one you have. Rectal is the most accurate. You could always pick up another one, different brand or just call the peds!

I’ve used it with both of my babies, and it’s always exact to the one at the doctor’s office!
